Flipping the Tinny

I was  very excited  to see  that  one  of  the  patterns in the flip contest was  the  Tinny. As I told you in previous  posts I was  a tester  for  An's  pattern and  was  so pleased that  I was  determined  to make  another  one, the  third, but  this  time  an sleeveless version. That  was  a  FLIP that  I  had in mind, wasn't it? So, it  was  a very easy decision.

 So these  were  my  changes to the  original pattern:

I lowered the neckline on both back and front bodice, narrowed the width of the shoulders, and also replaced the zipper with these big colourful heart-shaped buttons.

Also added piping all around the neckline, armscyes and back and added a waistband on the front and a bow at the back.

I used the bodice pieces of the pattern and the circle skirt option. I love how the pieces match to the milimetre! No extra fabric in any of the pieces = no extra work to adjust it = super fast no-trouble assembly of the dress , yay!

And best of all is that my daughter is in love with the dress! She couldn't wait to wear it!

Com que  he  estat fora de  combat  una  bona temporada :-( no hi he  pogut  participar, però amb  una  miqueta  de sort i si els menuts em deixen algun FLIP faré!

Since I've been a long time out of action :-( I have not been able to participate yet, but  with a bit of luck and I'll make  my own FLIP soon!

I aquest  mes  li toca  el torn a un superpatró: el TINNY de  n'An de  Straightgrain. I dic super patró perquè té tantes  possibilitats que és  com si fossin  24 patrons! (potser  el meu profe  de  mates, el que  em va  ensenyar  combinatòria es posaria les  mans  al cap, però crec que és exactament  el que  surt  de  combinar 4 tipus de colls, 3 tipus de falda i dos tipus de màniga). Estic especialment emocionada pel flip d'aquest  mes perquè vaig  tenir la gran sort de  fer de tester per al TINNY, en podeu veure els  resultats aquí, i em  va  encantar! té tant  de potencial i permet adaptar-lo tan  bé al gust de  cadascú que el cap ja em bull amb  idees  per fer-li la  "volta" a aquest  fantàstic patró!

Y este mes le toca el turno a un superpatrón: el TINNY de An de Straightgrain. Y digo super patrón porque tiene tantas posibilidades que es como si fueran 24 patrones! (tal vez mi profe de mates, el que me enseñó combinatoria, se llevaría las manos a la cabeza, pero creo que es exactamente lo que sale de combinar 4 tipos de cuellos, 3 tipos de falda y dos tipos de manga). Estoy especialmente emocionada por el "flip" de este mes porque tuve la gran suerte de hacer de tester para el TINNY, puedes ver los resultados aquí, y me encantó! tiene tanto potencial y permite adaptarlo tan bien al gusto de cada uno que la cabeza ya me rebosa ideas para hacerle la "vuelta" a este fantástico patrón!

And this month it's the turn of a great pattern: the TINNY from An of  Straightgrain. It has soooooooo many options that it's like 24 patterns in one!. I am particularly excited by the flip of this month because I was a lucky tester  of the  pattern, you can see it here, and I loved it! it's such a versatile  pattern, and  so easy to adapt  to everyone's  preferences that my  head is  overflowing with  ideas to make my  "flip"!

Alguna  informació pràctica  sobre el patró:

• l'esquena es tanca  amb  una  cremallera  invisible.
• el cos  és  prou ample com per que el vestit sigui molt  còmode.
• la màniga queda  bastant  llarga, però evidentment es  pot adaptar  la llargada fàcilment. A més a les  instruccions  hi ha  informació detallada i amb moltes  fotos de  com incorporar viu al puny.
• El coll és molt  fàcil de cosir al vestit ja que tota l'obertura del coll del vestit va rematat amb  una  vista. No patiu: les  instruccions inclouen  informació detalladíssima de  com cosir la vista amb  la  cremallera  invisible.

 información práctica sobre el patrón:

• la espalda se cierra con una cremallera invisible.
• el cuerpo es lo suficientemente ancho como para que el vestido sea muy cómodo.
• la manga queda bastante larga, pero evidentemente se puede adaptar la longitud fácilmente. Además en las instrucciones hay información detallada y con muchas fotos de cómo incorporar vivo en el puño.
• El cuello es muy fácil de coser al vestido ya que toda la abertura del cuello del vestido va rematada con una vista  y las instrucciones incluyen información detalladísima de cómo coser la vista con la cremallera invisible.

Some practical information about the pattern:

• back closes with an invisible zipper.
• the bodice has plenty of  ease to be very comfortable.
• the sleeve is quite long, but of course you can adapt the length easily. 
• The collar is very easy to attach  as the  neckline is finished  with a facing. Don't worry: the detailed instructions include information on how to sew the facing with the invisible zipper.
