Braguetes I- MsMW

Últimament  vaig  molt atrafegada amb  la  feina i la família, i tot  i que  m'agradaria  publicar  més al  bloc no hi ha  manera  de trobar el temps... però cosir, segueixo cosint sempre que  puc.

Avui us  vull  ensenyar  les  braguetes de  prova que  he  cosit per  participar a la MsMW de  la pantigana. Ho han  muntat  entre  l'Angie  de  la Pantigana  i  na  Yolanda  de  Pandielleando.  Gràcies  guapes!

Com us  he  dit és  una  prova, completament  utilitzable  i que  penso estrenar demà mateix, però estic esperant  que  m'arribi un foe decorat  que  he  encarregat!!!

La tela  que  he  utilitzat  la  vaig comprar  a una botiga  alemanya ja fa temps. És molt  elàstica  i fineta; fa  pinta de ser  molt  còmoda. El FOE el tenia  per  casa amb  la  idea  de  fer-li unes braguetes a la meva  filla, però de moment  haurà d'esperar, jeje.

Geranium dress

I'm REALLY behind in posting  my projects. In fact, most  of them remind  in the dark and  are  never blogged. Snif, snif. There's very little spare time  in my  daily routine, so I mostly  invest  it  in sewing rather  than blogging.

This is a wearable muslin of the geranium dress. I sewed it several months ago,

but it sit on a shelf waiting for some buttons on the back...

I solved it with some heart shaped snaps, though.

When Rae launched this pattern there were only the smaller sizes available. Although she promised to have the bigger sizes ready for summer, I couldn't wait. I was in love with this dress. So I bought the small sizes pattern and drafted size 7 myself.  I'm so happy I did it! There are, of course, many  details  to be  fixed, but I'm happy with the experience.

I bought te bigger sizes version when it was available, since pattern grading   takes  A LOT  of time, and  that's exactley what  I  need: time. Soooo, I really  think it's worth buying the  pattern and  being  sure everything is  going to fit  perfectly. You can expect  more geraniums  coming  up next  summer. Sure.

Unfortunately, my daughter thinks she's too old to wear a "baby print" and refuses to wear the dress again ...snif, snif .

Hanami pattern test

Hi all!

I was  super happy  when An sent  me  an e-mail saying  I had  been selected as  a  Hanami pattern tester!

An's patterns are  so beautiful! very clean and  nice designs, very well explained  instructions, lots  of photos...it's  impossible to get  lost and  best  of  all: everything  fits  perfectly, all pieces match to perfection so pleasant  sewing  experience is guaranteed. Sizes  go from 1 year  to 10 years old, and you have  many, many options to sew completely  different tops or  dresses for   only  $8! Just  to learn how  to install an invisible  zipper to a fully  lined bodice it's worth the price. But, don't worry! if  you're  afraid  of  zippers you can try the  buttoned crossed back.

Here is  my girl's  new  top. I chose to sew the  crossed back top. I fell in love  with it  the very first  time  An posted a picture  of it  in her  blog.

I used a white textured gauze, that  had  to be  a  top for  myself, but  happened  to  be  the  perfect  fabric  for this  top ;)

To complete the  outfit  I also sewed some  shorts in a  solid green fabric that  happened  to be  the  perfect  shade  of  green to match with the  top! 

and  a hair  bow in the  same  fabric I used for the  top

and  they're  so cute, so easy to make  and  use  so little fabric  that  I couldn't help myself and  added two more  of  them to the  sides  of   the  cuffs of the  shorts

By the  way, the  patterns  for  the  shorts  is  a  free one too: The  anyday banded  shorts  by Create  and delegate. It  comes  in sizes 2 to 5, but  you can easily adjust  the  pattern to make  a  bigger  size  as  I did.

One  more picture  of  the  back of  the  top. I  love  it!

But, As  I  told you, my  daughter loooooooves  this  top, so I  had  to make  another  one! This  time  an sleeveless version. It's VERY hot  here  at  summer, we  can easily  reach 30-35ºC (85-95 ºF) so lighter  clothing  is  a must  during  the  sunny  hours!

I'm sure  it will get  lots of  use!

Fedora Hat by Elegance and Elephants

These are  my  most recent  sewing  projects. Again, a  pattern test!

I was so so excited  when Heidi contacted me to test her  new  pattern the FEDORA HAT! I immediately answered YES!

It was  my  first  time  testing  an Elegance & Elephants pattern,  but  not  my  first  time  sewing  with one  of  Heidi's patterns (I recently sewed the  bubble pockets  shorts, I hope  to blog  about  it  soon), so I was  sure the results would  be  great!

And  I was  right. Don't  you think so?

Just  have  a look at  the  beautiful professional finishings of the  interior  of  the  hat. Wow!  I can hardly  believe I've  made it  myself!

I't's not  definetly  a  beginners  pattern, but  I would  absolutely recommend it  for  intermediate  sewers. It's not  that it's  complicated, but  you need some  sewing  experience  to sew thrugh many layers of  heavy interfaced tweed or  wool fabric, I guess.

You did  a  great  job Heidi, congrats! And  thank you for  having  me  as a tester!

Flipping the Tinny

I was  very excited  to see  that  one  of  the  patterns in the flip contest was  the  Tinny. As I told you in previous  posts I was  a tester  for  An's  pattern and  was  so pleased that  I was  determined  to make  another  one, the  third, but  this  time  an sleeveless version. That  was  a  FLIP that  I  had in mind, wasn't it? So, it  was  a very easy decision.

 So these  were  my  changes to the  original pattern:

I lowered the neckline on both back and front bodice, narrowed the width of the shoulders, and also replaced the zipper with these big colourful heart-shaped buttons.

Also added piping all around the neckline, armscyes and back and added a waistband on the front and a bow at the back.

I used the bodice pieces of the pattern and the circle skirt option. I love how the pieces match to the milimetre! No extra fabric in any of the pieces = no extra work to adjust it = super fast no-trouble assembly of the dress , yay!

And best of all is that my daughter is in love with the dress! She couldn't wait to wear it!

FLIP THIS PATTERN

Segur que  ja  sabeu què  s'hi cou a costurilàndia!

Com que  he  estat fora de  combat  una  bona temporada :-( no hi he  pogut  participar, però amb  una  miqueta  de sort i si els menuts em deixen algun FLIP faré!

Since I've been a long time out of action :-( I have not been able to participate yet, but  with a bit of luck and I'll make  my own FLIP soon!

I aquest  mes  li toca  el torn a un superpatró: el TINNY de  n'An de  Straightgrain. I dic super patró perquè té tantes  possibilitats que és  com si fossin  24 patrons! (potser  el meu profe  de  mates, el que  em va  ensenyar  combinatòria es posaria les  mans  al cap, però crec que és exactament  el que  surt  de  combinar 4 tipus de colls, 3 tipus de falda i dos tipus de màniga). Estic especialment emocionada pel flip d'aquest  mes perquè vaig  tenir la gran sort de  fer de tester per al TINNY, en podeu veure els  resultats aquí, i em  va  encantar! té tant  de potencial i permet adaptar-lo tan  bé al gust de  cadascú que el cap ja em bull amb  idees  per fer-li la  "volta" a aquest  fantàstic patró!

Y este mes le toca el turno a un superpatrón: el TINNY de An de Straightgrain. Y digo super patrón porque tiene tantas posibilidades que es como si fueran 24 patrones! (tal vez mi profe de mates, el que me enseñó combinatoria, se llevaría las manos a la cabeza, pero creo que es exactamente lo que sale de combinar 4 tipos de cuellos, 3 tipos de falda y dos tipos de manga). Estoy especialmente emocionada por el "flip" de este mes porque tuve la gran suerte de hacer de tester para el TINNY, puedes ver los resultados aquí, y me encantó! tiene tanto potencial y permite adaptarlo tan bien al gusto de cada uno que la cabeza ya me rebosa ideas para hacerle la "vuelta" a este fantástico patrón!

And this month it's the turn of a great pattern: the TINNY from An of  Straightgrain. It has soooooooo many options that it's like 24 patterns in one!. I am particularly excited by the flip of this month because I was a lucky tester  of the  pattern, you can see it here, and I loved it! it's such a versatile  pattern, and  so easy to adapt  to everyone's  preferences that my  head is  overflowing with  ideas to make my  "flip"!

Alguna  informació pràctica  sobre el patró:

• l'esquena es tanca  amb  una  cremallera  invisible.
• el cos  és  prou ample com per que el vestit sigui molt  còmode.
• la màniga queda  bastant  llarga, però evidentment es  pot adaptar  la llargada fàcilment. A més a les  instruccions  hi ha  informació detallada i amb moltes  fotos de  com incorporar viu al puny.
• El coll és molt  fàcil de cosir al vestit ja que tota l'obertura del coll del vestit va rematat amb  una  vista. No patiu: les  instruccions inclouen  informació detalladíssima de  com cosir la vista amb  la  cremallera  invisible.

 información práctica sobre el patrón:

• la espalda se cierra con una cremallera invisible.
• el cuerpo es lo suficientemente ancho como para que el vestido sea muy cómodo.
• la manga queda bastante larga, pero evidentemente se puede adaptar la longitud fácilmente. Además en las instrucciones hay información detallada y con muchas fotos de cómo incorporar vivo en el puño.
• El cuello es muy fácil de coser al vestido ya que toda la abertura del cuello del vestido va rematada con una vista  y las instrucciones incluyen información detalladísima de cómo coser la vista con la cremallera invisible.

Some practical information about the pattern:

• back closes with an invisible zipper.
• the bodice has plenty of  ease to be very comfortable.
• the sleeve is quite long, but of course you can adapt the length easily. 
• The collar is very easy to attach  as the  neckline is finished  with a facing. Don't worry: the detailed instructions include information on how to sew the facing with the invisible zipper.

El 15  de  maig  vaig  tenir  un petit  accident  amb  la  màquina  de  cosir. Sabia que  era  qüestió de  temps que  un dia  em cosís el dit, però el que no podia  imaginar  era  que  es  pogués  complicar  tant.

Aquest  és  l'aspecte  del meu dit gairebé 4 setmanes  després (la  foto la  vaig  fer  ahir) :

i aquest  l'aspecte  de  les  radiografies  que  em varen fer  després  de que  1 setmana  d'antibiòtic  no fes  l'efecte esperat...

supòs que  ja  heu endevinat què va  passar...

la foto de  la radiografia  no es  veu gaire  bé, però a l'original es pot  veure fins  i tot  el forat  de  l'agulla...

Quan em veuen el dit  la  gent  em demana si seguiré  cosint  a màquina, i jo els dic que mai he deixat de fer-ho. Ni amb  el dit fet  pols... prova  d'això la teniu amb  el test del patró Tinny de  Straightgrain  que  vaig  publicar ahir i el del nou patró Tennis skort  de  Heidi and  Finn que publicaré  d'aquí a uns  dies si el dit  m'ho permet ;-)


Torneu demà o passat (depèn del dit) perquè tenc  una  cosa  per  a  vosaltres...

Tinny

I  had  the  big  luck and  grat  pleasure  to test  the newest Straightgrain's pattern: TINNY

I made  two different dresses, both with same collar, and  cuff  choices, but  different  skirt.

The  fist  one with asymmetrical collar (I love  it!), notched  cuffs  and  circle  skirt:

The  second  one  with assymmetrical collar, notched cuffs and pleated skirt

You can see how  different  they look just  changing  the fabric and  skirt, so  imagine  how  many different  dresses  you can sew  by making  different  combinations of  collar, cuff  and  skirt!

 I must  admit  I'm a  terrible photographer and  these photographs  don't  make  justice  to the wonderful design. I'm sorry An!

The  dress seems  to be  very comfortable, since my  daughter asks to wear  it  every time  it's  clean  and pressed. She  specially  loves  the blue one because  of  the  twirling effect  of  the  circle  skirt.


I'm thinking  now  of  a  sleeveless version with a  big sash tied  in a  bow  at  the  back...wonderful!

Top Abril

Vaig  prendre  part  en el sewalong  de  Diario de  Naii per al Top Abril, però per mil motius no l'he pogut acabar a temps. Però com bé diu la dita, val més tard  que  mai. Aquí en teniu la  meva  versió:
